A couple of months ago, some of you found that your blogs were banned. We banned these blogs because they violated our terms and conditions.
We know, we know. Nobody really reads the terms page, but it’s especially important in this case that you check it out.
We value freedom of kink, but we don’t want to host blogs showing activities that violate the laws of the countries where our servers are located.
We don’t want to get in trouble with the law, but we also don’t want to risk having all blogs shut down because of a few users.
So we’re drawing the line on these activities:
Child pornography. This is a hard limit. Any blog featuring minors will be banned immediately.
Revenge porn. Same as above. Consent is paramount and we don’t hesitate to honor takedown requests from people who did not consent to have their information, pictures, or videos posted online.
Zoophilia, pedophilia, and necrophilia, and all illegal activities. Animals, children, and dead people can't give their consent.
Graphic violence and all sorts of gore, including injuries and dead people.
Racism, including Nazi symbols and references.
Personally identifying information, such as IDs, passports, driver’s licenses, credit cards, and bank information.
You might be wondering about the last one. What about exposure kink? We know some of you enjoy “exposing” someone on the internet, but we’ll have to work together on this one.
For exposure kink blogs, we ask that you upload at least two pictures taken from different angles of the person you’re exposing holding up a handwritten note that shows they consent to being “exposed”. The note must include your blog name and the date the picture was taken. You don’t have to do this every time you post, but you’ll have to do it for every person you “expose”.
Do we ban all blogs that have a single post that violates our terms?
Not really, no. We simply remove the offending post and let you go on with your life. But if your blog is overwhelmingly offensive, such as if you’re posting child porn or if your blog theme is actual rape (and not rape fantasy—because there’s a difference between the two), we will remove it immediately without letting you know.
Now, if your blog was banned, will you be able to get it back?
Yes, we believe in second chances. You can write to our support team and explain why your blog shouldn’t be banned. That means you’ll have to remove all posts violating our terms and promise not to post the same thing again. We’re just going to ban you again.
We hope that clears up your questions about getting banned (and un-banned). When in doubt, consent is key. Did the person in your post consent to the activity and to having their photo or video posted on your BDSMLR? If yes, you're clear. If not, better not post it at all.
